Welcome to My Story
Hi, my name is Kenny, and I want to welcome you to 4WheelzTrucking CO.
At 54 years old, my life has been a long journey of overcoming obstacles, adaptation, and finding new passions. This virtual trucking company is the latest chapter in that story, and I’m glad you’re here to be a part of it with me.
Overcoming the Roadblocks
When I was 22, my life changed in an instant. After a night of partying and drinking, I ended up breaking my neck from a diving accident. The accident resulted in a C5/C6 spinal cord injury, leaving me with a significant physical handicap (in a wheelchair). Suddenly, I was faced with a massive question: What am I going to do with my life?
Navigating life with a physical handicap—alongside managing ADHD—wasn’t easy. But I was determined not to let it park me permanently.
I transitioned into the professional world by doing freelance real estate work, starting out sourcing vacant land for companies. I found a knack for it, but the open road was always calling. I had always wanted to be a real truck driver, but after the accident, it felt like an impossible dream.
Getting Close to the Big Rigs
Instead of giving up on driving, I adapted. I obtained the necessary permits to operate a limousine business here in Virginia. I started out driving personal limos for friends, and when they opened a formal company, they outfitted the vehicles with custom hand controls. I took on selective jobs for family and clients who didn’t mind that I couldn’t physically open the doors for them. It wasn’t exactly a 53-foot tractor-trailer, but it was the closest I could get, and I loved being behind the wheel.
In 2009, right in the middle of a massive economic recession, I took a leap of faith and opened my own limousine company. We started with just 3 vehicles and grew the fleet to 11 before I successfully sold the business around 2016–2017.
When COVID-19 hit, I pivoted back to my roots in real estate. Today, I still freelance, finding leads for investment homes and vacant properties.
Discovering American Truck Simulator (ATS)
A few years ago, I discovered the American Truck Simulator (ATS). I thought the game looked incredible, but I honestly didn’t know how I’d be able to play it without the use of foot pedals or a physical clutch.
Determined to try, I bought a Logitech G920 steering wheel setup. But to be completely transparent, it sat next to my desk collecting dust for two whole years. Every time I opened the game, the sheer amount of button-mapping and technical configuration felt completely overwhelming and intimidating.
But if my life has taught me anything, it’s that you just have to put your mind to it.
Recently, I finally decided to conquer the learning curve. I got a proper wheel stand, added a button box, integrated tablets for telemetry, and painstakingly mapped out all the controls to work flawlessly with my hand setups. I haven’t figured absolutely everything out yet, but I now have about 60 hours of drive time, I’ve reached level 11/12 in experience, and I just purchased my first custom Jon Ruda truck!
The Next Stop: 4Wheelz VTC
As of June 2026, I am fully hooked on this game. There is so much to learn—from the endless configurations to the incredible community mods—but the journey is incredibly rewarding.
I’ve met some fantastic people along the way in Facebook groups, Discord servers, and on YouTube while following great content creators like Armstrong Trucking and Dream Team Racing. Their communities inspired me to start this virtual trucking company, 4Wheelz, as a way to connect with drivers who share the same passion for the road, no matter what their background is.
My next big project? I’ve officially gotten my grandson into the hobby! We are currently building out his simulator setup, and in the next couple of weeks, he and I will be hitting the highway together for our very first family convoys.
Thank you for stopping by 4Wheelz VTC. Whether you are a veteran virtual trucker or someone facing your own set of roadblocks, remember that any route is drivable if you put your mind to it.
Happy Trucking, look forward to meeting everyone, and I hope to see you in a convoy soon!
